Scott is a professional engineer as well as a graduate of the UBC School of Architecture. He also has LEED accreditation. He has been a principal of Cornerstone Architecture since 1988. Scott applies his combination of architectural and engineering expertise to ensure projects achieve optimum development outcomes while exemplifying technically sound industry practice. He is committed to design strategies that minimize life-cycle energy use.

Scott is experienced in the integration of quality design with development that makes good business sense. He commonly assists clients in evaluating site potential and development options, preparing pro-formas, securing financing and marketing. Scott is well versed in the process of community consultation and public agency review that is a necessary prerequisite to successful development. He has headed the architectural team for a wide array of residential, commercial, hotel/resort, office and public service projects.

Architect AIBC, ARB(UK), CPHD

Gwill is a UK ARB and AIBC qualified Architect and Partner at Cornerstone Architecture in Vancouver BC, with over 18 years practice experience. He practiced in the UK for 7 years as an Intern Architect, Project Architect and as a Practice Director, where he worked on a variety of new build and renovation projects in the commercial, educational and residential fields.

Gwill joined Cornerstone in 2012 and has experience with a wide range of new development commercial, residential and mixed-use projects in Vancouver, the Lower Mainland and across BC, specializing in the design, management and execution of 4 and 6 storey MURB’s and townhouse rental and strata projects.

Gwill is a Certified Passive House Designer, contributing educational presentations to the local Passive House community while designing a number of high performance, residential projects and delivering one of Cornerstone’s first certified Passive House project with BC Housing in Smithers BC. He is currently involved in designing and developing our next generation of residential Passive House projects, exploring the latest high efficiency ventilation and hot water systems and thermal bridge free and low carbon wood frame construction techniques. In recent years his role has expanded into the day-to-day management of the architectural practice and recently became an office partner and registered member of the AIBC.
